Eligibility Criteria for Doctoral Fellowship
To avail benefits of the SERB National Post Doctoral Fellowship 2023, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Applicant must be an Indian Citizenship.
- The age limit of the applicant must be within 35 years.
- Aspiring fellows must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or M.S. degree from a recognized university.
Rewards and Benefits of SERB Fellowship
The selected SERB National Post Doctoral Fellowship fellows will get the following rewards and benefits:
- Fellows will receive a generous monthly stipend of INR 55,000.
- The university will award a SERB Fellowship of INR 35,000 to candidates who have submitted their thesis but are yet to be awarded a degree.
- Fellows will receive an annual research grant of INR 2,00,000.
- Overheads Allowance of INR 1,00,000 per annum to cover overhead expenses related to their research.
Focus Points:
- Minor Equipment, Consumables, Contingencies and Domestic Travel can be done through Research Grant.
- The fellows are expected to undertake the research objectives by themselves during the entire duration of the fellowship.
- During the tenure of the fellowship, recipients are not eligible to receive any other fellowship from either governmental or non-governmental sources.
- The fellows must seek the consent of SERB if they intend to be away from the implementing institute (except for field work related to the project) continuously for a period of more than 8 weeks.
- There is no provision for providing research personnel support.

Application Procedure for SERB National Post Doctoral Fellowship

3: Complete Profile Detail: After registration, fill in the mandatory fields in the Profile Detail section under User Profile. Upload the necessary documents and submit the online application.
Important Note: Ensure that your research proposal is compiled into a single PDF file, not exceeding 10 MB, along with other technical documents (OTD).
